I used to use a grid but now i just draw them on in pencil then go over in paint

lolz awesome, i tried to use a grid on a random photo once.... I can't sdo it X3 How do ppl use them lmao!! I can't... So I do it completely by hand... hence the fact theyre not correct lol

well i used to draw the squares out on the original pic...then do the same squares (only bigger) on the canvas then just draw the pic out....They started to annoy me tho and id never stick to the grid so i just stopped using them and did it all freehand
